Blackbrook School Go Maracas as World Record Holders!!
UPDATE ----Looks like they did it!!! Here's the review on local TV - including interviews with Jeremy Sleith and Ian Haskell.
Congratulations to all the young people as well as the organisers.
Blackbrook St Mary's Catholic Junior School in Chain Lane St Helens are aiming for a world record on Wednesday 10 February 2010.
All the children of the school together with the teachers and some parents will accompany our Mayor Cllr Terry Shield in shaking their maracas for 5 minutes. They need more than 407 in our ensemble to beat the existing record set by Bez of the Happy Mondays in 2005.
Ian Haskell from music-net said "We are also using this as a fundraiser to help the school acquire much
needed equipment for the early years - reception childrens play area, so any sponsorship would be gratefully accepted."
If you're able to help out, contact Ian on ianhaskell@blueyonder.co.uk and mark the subject "Maracas"
Hopefully Ian will be reporting back about their success.
Good luck to all from music-net
