Can everyone who plays drums please post something so that I can get an idea just how many drummers there are in the borough. I have an exciting idea for the future, so even if you don't play and want to learn, it will still count.

thanks

drumming - where?

Do people have to live in the Borough? or can they like the idea of playing in the Borough? St Helens is famous for its transport networks - I'm sure people will travel in if you've got a great idea. Good luck!

Oh and is it just drums or percussion in general?

To broaden my request, this can be anyone who wants to play drums in St Helens or just come up here to do it and yes percussion counts. In short anything that makes a beat.

Hi, I have been learning for the last 6 months! I have a good (very patient) teacher, Dave a friend, and bought my own kit a few months ago that has pride of place in my garage!

Am I any good, probably not, but I don't care, I love it!! Smiling

I am after an electric set off father xmas, so I can play happily in my bedroom with headphones on, although, I have used an electric kit and it doesn't quite seem right, the sound that is, thats just my opinion.

I had wanted to learn for ages, but kept getting put off by comments such as 'girls dont play drums' and 'you dont look the type' not that anyone could ever describe the type of woman that plays drums!!

In fact, when I bought my kit, I went with my teenage son to pick it up, and the bloke in the shop thought it was for him!!

Its fun, challengeing and stress relieveing, although I have thrown my sticks accross the garage many times (Dave said this was a 'normal' part of learning!) Laughing out loud

Would advise anyone male or female to take it up!
