Make sure you keep the 4th and 5th July free in your diary. That’s because you’ll have a flutterly brilliant time at this year’s St.Helens Festival in Sherdley Park!

St Helens Music Net return to the scene of melodies past with a song packed celebration of all things musical at this year's St Helens Festival.

The event sees an array of community groups and professional musicians lend their expertise to a free programme of workshops and performances that promises something for everyone - whatever their musical interest. Visitors to the Music Net Music Grotto in the Creative St Helens area, are invited to “come on in and make a din!”, make friends and find out more about music making in St Helens.

Sunday 5th July

2-4pm – The Beating Heart Rhythm Workshop – Djembe drumming with session ace Ian Haskell.
4-6pm - Scratch and Spit – DJ-ing, MC-ing and beatbox masterclass with St Helens scratch legend DJ Rasp and The Mak Of All Trades.

Sunday also sees Music Net opening proceedings in the Music and Performing Arts Pavilion, showcasing the best young talent from local music schools and development programmes. Compered by Music Net founder and resident crowd pleaser Steve Kinsey, the line up promises to kick things off in suitably raucous style:

12pm - Silent Thunder – Blackbrook's finest (Youth Music Reverberate programme)
12.30pm - St Helens Music Academy presents...
1pm - Mr J – Rainhill rock idols (Citadel Summer School)
